HNH Human Capital are exclusively partnering with a thriving and rapidly expanding retail company based in the Craigavon area to recruit a Financial Controller / Director to join and spearhead their finance function. This is an unrivalled opportunity in the local market and would suit someone with 4/5 yrs experience at FC level or existing FD looking for a new challenge.

This is an “ideas” company where everyone has a voice from the most junior staff member right through to the MD and everyone is valued equally. The right fit for this role will be someone with the ambition and resilience to grow the company, have the eye for detail in process and costing improvements and the personality to work directly with the MD, run with ideas but also “push back” when the situation dictates.
You will be totally immersed in the “nuts and bolts” of the firm. You will play a key role in designing and implementing the business processes, systems, reporting and projects, future planning and actively scaling up the business. This is a role that is heavily involved in the future strategy, while also being close enough to the numbers so you “own” the finance function. Autonomy is the key feature here.
As mentioned, the firm is in a period of continued and planned growth. With this the role will also grow. You will need to commit to the cause and be part of this company’s journey and as such you will evolve the team to your own spec. The plan is for you to be a central figure in this company’s identity.
You will be a qualified accountant with significant industry experience, at least 4/5 yrs running a company’s finance function. You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to report at board level, but also to the staff – not just telling people what the business is doing, or what changes are being implemented but why and doing so in layman’s terms. You will be hungry to learn the business and drive success – age is not a factor here, energy and attitude are key! Finally, you will be an ideas person with the confidence to not only bring ideas to the table but follow through with them, as well as knowing what perhaps wont work for the business and being able to influence the board on these matters.
This role will have a base salary of £60-£70K with bonus depending on company performance. As the role evolves there is a plan in place for equity options additionally.
